His and Hers: Books on Pregnancy

Yesterday Dashing Boy and I went out on a much needed date. After dinner, shopping, and some ice cream we ended up at the bookstore. Bookstores make wonderful date spots.

We left with these books:

I've been wanting to get my hands on Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth for quite some time. I'm so excited about Ina May. Two years ago when The Business of Being Born came out, I learned about her for the first time. She is amazing. Now that I am feeling like childbirth is something I can focus on I am ready to jump right in to her book. I started it this morning, and so far love it.

Dashing Boy is by no means a caveman. But as I was sitting in the middle of the aisle looking through all kinds of pregnancy books my eye caught The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion. I got it off the shelf and handed it to him, very jokingly seriously.

This one is for you, I said with a silly smile.

A few minutes later Dashing Boy was laughing away at pictures like this:

And he said it actually looked like a good, albeit silly, book. And then he said he wanted to evolve from a caveman to a fully supportive pregnancy companion :)

Which he already is, I mean, he already knew who Ina May was, but it's pretty dang cute to catch him reading it.
