Well goodness me! after looking online for replacements I found that they were over $200 for our particular glider! And so I turned to the crafty people of the blogosphere and found this lovely blog and glider makeover- the same glider as ours!
Grandma and I have spent the last four days working on it!
Here is the before:

I was able to find it on etsy for half price so the total cost to reupholster this glider was under $40 including the extra fabric I have to do an ottoman too!
Here is the after:

Grandma is so talented and patient. She made sure we got all the beautiful little details right!

Thank you grandma! I can't wait to rock and nurse our sweet baby in it. I know I'll be thinking of you often as I do!

wow!! I am WAY impressed (as usual)!
You are indeed VERY crafty.
This is amazing. You and your Grandma (Hi Shirley) are very talented people.
I soooo need to do that to mine! Did you remove the other fabric or put the whole thing in side of your new cover?
Heidi- I didn't remove any fabric, I just put the whole cushion inside the new cover!
i am excited to sit in the rocker and rock herman too!
The rocker turned out beautifully. I love your choice of fabric-- it just looks like something you would have designed yourself.
Hi there, you did such a great job.
I'm looking to do the same thing but upholstery fabric is so expensive (like $40/metre and I need 3 m). It looks like you used some type of woven cotton.... is that right??
Thanks so much,
Kat
Hey Kat,
I used a home dec fabric that I found on etsy. It's a heavier cotton fabric, perfect for this project. You can find some good deals online for fabric like this. I really like etsy and a lot of the sellers ship internationally! Search for "home dec" under supplies and you will see a bunch!
Awesome! I bought my glider off Craigslist for $45 and recovered it myself:
