Time Well Spent.

I've spent these last few weeks being busy.

Busy with my new job.

Busy with home life.

And busy sewing with Grandma.

Each day I wake up in the wee hours and bake.

Then, later in the day I sew with Grandma.

She's taking me to all her favorite quilting stores. Each one has its own feel she says. Her favorite has beautiful natural lighting- and I could eat every divine fabric in the store.

Our first project was capri pajama pants with a ruffle. Now we're making a housecoat. Which I am very excited about. Next, a tunic. Then in two weeks I'm taking a quilting class with Grandma in tow, and Juju! who we convinced to take the class as well.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a quilting class with your grandma and sister," we said.

Grandma is so happy, and I am so happy to be spending so much time with her.

She shows me her secrets-things that people don't take the time to do anymore. And then I sew, and Grandma sits right next to me all the while. She says fondly, that she feels like her sewing teacher. And she says "It pleases me so that you are excited about sewing." I love it.

We talk, and smile, and I want to give her a hundred hugs the whole time because she is so cute. Yesterday I learned that she even had her own fabric store at one point!

Gram, you're amazing.

I'm in awe. and

Um, I would like to make some Capri pajama pants with a ruffle too! Where did you find the pattern? Send me a picture of yours when you're done, would ya? I'd love to see how they turn out!

I am working on upping my sewing game too! I can do simple things, but I am going to be making our baby girl's bedding soon...with some excellent people because I would ruin all the beautiful fabric! You are very lucky to be able to spend all of this time with your grandma, and I love her Vera, it just suits her!!!

She really is a class act. I've been in quilting classes with your grandma when she teaches the teacher! She is so happy to be passing this along to you and your sister- the joy is ozzing out of her!
