A Cure For The Common Worrier

The other night I was feeling a bit anxious.

I was thinking too much. It was late. I was tired. Too tired in fact, to brush my teeth. Why does that always sound so difficult at night? Of course, I wouldn't go to bed without brushing and flossing so there I sat- procrastinating, staring at the computer screen, and being anxious.

Dashing Boy had tuned in to this.
"Do you want me to read you a story?" He called from down the hall.

A story! For Meeeee? It sounded so comforting.

It was just enough motivation to get me out of the office, and into bed- teeth brushed.

There was Dashing Boy, book in hand- Dr. Suess' Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? I smiled, curled up like a kid, and listened to the story. Anxious worries floating away.

Dr. Suess' Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?
The best part of the whole book is a note from Dashing Boy's Grandpa to his Grandma. We did the math and discovered this book was added to their collection during the early days of grandchildren. And they were already calling each other Grandma and Grandpa.

To Grandma! Did you ever know how lucky I am. Love Grandpa 1982
How sweet is that?

ohhhhhh!!!! Dr. Suess. It doesn't get any better. I always ask Adam to tell me a story. He's usually not as prepped though.

I'm not usually either. Luckily we had borrowed a bunch of Dr. Suess books from my grandparents recently.
